On Thursday, November 12, CDDRL welcomed founding members of the Center for Applied Nonviolent Action and Strategies [CANVAS], Srdja Popovic and Slobodan Djinovic, who spoke on best practices for nonviolent campaigns against autocratic governments. Using their personal experiences in confronting the regime of Slobodan Milosevic in 1997 Serbia, Popovic and Djinovic highlighted the merits of nonviolent resistance over violent public action.
